Keynote

All right! WWDC is happening this week and yesterday’s keynote set the tone pretty well for this week and what to expect from Apple in the following months. Apple announced “Three” big updates yesterday starting with 1) Mac Hardware, 2) Mountain Lion, and 3) iOS 6. Today we will only be going over the updates that were done to the Mac.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, came up on stage yesterday to talk to the crowd of developers about how exciting it is to have such talented developers take their ideas and see them flourish on the App store. After sharing with us some great stats about their hardware and software, Phil Schiller, Senior VP of Marketing, came up on stage to discuss the Mac.

MAC

The Mac currently features the Macbook Air and MacBook Pro. After discontinuing the White MacBook, many Apple fans speculated that Apple will soon be releasing a new Mac to their line. Well, they did, and they call it MacBook Pro with Retina Display. Here are a few specs on the next generation MacBook Pro:

  • Retina Display
  • Flash Storage
  • 7-hour Battery
  • Ivy Bridge Processor
  • USB 3.0
  • 2 Thunderbolt Ports

There are many more features that are included in this MacBook Pro. If you would like to read more about it, please visit Apple’s website.

Protection: Just like with any new hardware release from Apple thousands if not millions of people will be trying to get their hands on one. Shipping dates for the notebook at the moment are at 2-3 weeks and will probably stay like this for a few months. As you wait, we at Worth Ave. Group would like to encourage you to purchase insurance for the MacBook Pro or any other laptop you may own. Seeing that the price for this new machine is starting at $2,199 we only hope you want to protect it.
